KENTUCKY POLICE FIND DEAD DOGS AND CATS IN SHELTER’S FREEZER
Police obtain a search warrant after receiving complaints about the Trixie Foundation shelter. The shelter’s website advertises itself as an “Eden” for animals and the “best kept secret in animal welfare.”
The officers seize 90 dogs and cats all together, in this no-kill animal shelter.
Melissa Bowman, president of Kentuckians Vote for Animals, accompanied police during the raid. She said the animals suffered from medical neglect, some were found with tumors and some dead found in the freezer.
Randy Skaggs, owner of the shelter, said, he provides medical care when the animals need it and he did not bury the 7 cats and 5 dogs found in the freezer because of high workloads. He was scheduled to stand trial this June on misdemeanor animal cruelty charges from 2018. He now faces 80 charges of improper disposal. He was not arrested, and said he intends to fight all the charges.

A recycling crew from Tamworth and Lichfield found a litter of kittens in a bin near a school in Wilnecote.
The crew heard the kittens above the engine noise, the kittens were near the bottom in a Cheerios box. The Crew had emptied the bin 2 weeks prior, and the bin was quite empty, so they spotted the kittens easily.
The kittens were named Squeak, Socks, Snowy and Felix, and they have been adopted by a new mom, Chloe, at the Little Paws Cat Haven rescue center in Wolverhampton.

KITZIA, THE ANGRIEST GRUMPY CAT
Meet Kitzia, the angriest grumpy cat that is proudly carrying the torch of her predecessor, Tardar Sauce. Tardar was the original grumpy cat and sadly she died last year.
Kitzia is a female cat with what is seen as, by some, as a more enraged look, with lines on her black and grey fur that appear like frown marks.
Kitzia lives with her human, Viktoriia Otdielnova, a photographer in Florida.
Viktoriia has never revealed if there is any reason her cat possesses the ever-present scowling facial expression. We know Tardar has feline dwarfism and an underbite.
Tardar still has a presence online with over 2 million followers on Instagram and forever will be immortalized in our minds and on the internet, but we are glad to have Kitzia bringing smiles to all cat lovers.

KIT-NAP!
Gandalf, a white Bengal and Russian blue crossbreed, returns home with a note taped to its fur and collar from an angry neighbor who threatened to kidnap and take him far away.
Chris, 27, and his girlfriend were very shocked to see this intimidating letter attached to their furry friend when he returned to their home in Bridgend, Wales.
This angry neighbor decided to write several notes, after they claimed they were fed up because they could not leave their windows open in their house. This note goes on about how this kitty, goes inside their home almost every day, taking their food from the table, scratching their sofa and spreads fleas throughout their house.
The couple are now worried to let the four-year-old cat out of the house. Before the notes, they had placed a collar saying ‘please do not feed me’ on Gandalf, because they noticed he was getting bigger and suspect someone might be feeding him. They also gave Gandalf a monthly flea treatment.
Gandalf loves to roam around and wants to go outside. The couple wishes to speak with this neighbor soon and try to resolve the issue.

WOMAN REUNITED WITH LOST CAT
Kellie Carlsen parents’ gift her with Mocha, a black and yellow kitten, after she had lost her cat Silver to cancer.
But after 4 months, Mocha ran away from and did not return. They search day and night, for about 4 years, until it got to a point, they thought something bad happened to the kitty.
A decade passes by and a woman drops a cat off at Tooele Animal Shelter, saying she had been feeding this cat for the last 10 years, and that she was moving and feared no one would care for the cat once she was gone.
When the employees at the shelter scanned the cat, they found a microchip and linked the cat to Carlsen’s parents.
Carlsen’s parents initially thought there was a mistake, and were confused at the time, but they decided to visit the cat at the shelter. Once they realized it might be Mocha, they called Kellie right away to come down to the shelter.
Kellie knew immediately when Mocha turned around, and she saw the markings on her face. Kellie was just full of joy.
This was only possible because the cat chip was registered.

STRAY CAT AWAKES WOMAN AT 5AM ‘ASKING’ TO COME INSIDE
Ida Floreak was sleeping when she was awakened by a persistence meowing at her door around 5am. At first, she thought it might be her own cat Bruce, but then she remembered Salami, a cat she has been feeding for a couple weeks.
Salami was not looking for her usual snack, but a safe place to give birth to her kittens.
She meows for a couple hours and by 9am she had her 4 kittens. Ida nicknamed the new kittens Deli Meats.
Not only Salami did seek out human help to have her kittens, as cats can be very private animals. She also stuck around, instead of hiding away. Even though the 4 kittens were given to friends, Salami is now living with Bruce and Ida.
One of the kittens is gone to a friend of Ida’s in Mississippi, and the other 3 are all in her neighborhood.

JUSTICE FOR ANIMALS
Timothy Allen Holley from Lafayette, Indiana, was finally found guilty of animal cruelty.
On November 9, 2018, the police and animal control found 3 dogs and a cat locked in a mobile home bedroom without food or water and the dogs had even begun to chew a hole in the floor.
The dogs were severely underweight, they were treated at the Purdue University Veterinary Hospital. One of the dogs did not survive his injuries and was euthanized after not recovering from his coma, this dog suffered from an intestinal perforation, several parasites, skin infections, and a weakened heart muscle.
The Doctors testimony confirmed that medical conditions the dogs were suffering could have been prevented with proper care.
Timothy Allen Holley tried to lie to the officers saying he stopped by the night before to feed the animals, but he later admitted he had not been at the trailer for some time.
Holley was found guilty by a jury and he will be sentenced on September 1st in Tippecanoe Superior 5, according to prosecutors.

CAT IN UK FOUND WITH CORONAVIRUS
The UK has their first feline test positive for coronavirus. They think the cat caught the virus from its owner, who had previously tested positive. Both have now recovered.
The UK chief veterinary officer Christine Middlemiss said: “There is no evidence to suggest that pets directly transmit the virus to humans. We will continue to monitor this situation closely and will update our guidance to pet owners should the situation change.”
When the owner took the cat to the veterinary it was initially diagnosed feline herpes virus – a common cat respiratory infection – but the sample was also tested for Sars-Cov-2 as part of a research program.
